The whole is greater than the sum of its parts as these two master blends can attest. Cardinale winemaker Chris Carpenter sources Cabernet Sauvignon grapes from eleven of Napa Valley’s most celebrated vineyards to craft a wine that is defined by the vintage rather than any singular site. This wine sings with blackberry, dark cherry, blueberry pie, mocha, slate, graphite and toasted vanilla notes. It will awaken you to the wonder that was and is the 2016 vintage. Vérité vigneron Pierre Seillan tends to more than 50 micro-crus and draws inspiration from the finest wines of the Pauillac region to create this Bordeaux blend. Predominantly Cabernet Sauvignon, La Joie will draw you in with its layered aromas and flavors of damson plum, cedarwood and black olive, and hints of tobacco and clove. Structured tannins and bright acidity drive to a persistent, elegant finish. Both wines can be enjoyed now or easily cellared for decades.
